Meet Joe

Joe T. Keener, II has served as Sevier County Clerk for the past fifteen years, beginning in the fall of 1992. He began implementing the use of computer technology from the beginning of his office run. The clerk's office operated totally by handwriting, typewriting, and hand searches for any documents stored in the office. Now every department in the office is on computer. Many services are also available online. It has taken several years to get everything up to this level of service, but has been worth the work and wait.

Joe is a lifelong resident of Sevier County who graduated from Sevier County High School in 1979. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee in 1984. He has attended many training meetings available to the county clerks. He has served on the board for the Boys and Girls Club, and the Sevier County High School Alumni Association. He is also a graduate from Leadership Sevier. Joe is a current member of the BB&T advisory board.

Joe has been married to the former Tonya McCroskey for 22 years and resides in the Boyds Creek community. They have two sons, Caleb age 16, and Wil age 12.
